Shaping Ghana's NBSAP

A contributing voice in reviewing and shaping the National Biodiversity Strategy & Action Plan that steers national conservation.

Government & UN Partner

Selected to deliver the National Monitoring Support Initiative alongside MESTI and the UNEP World Conservation Monitoring Centre.

Successor to Conservation International, Ghana

2008

A new alliance for the Upper Guinea Hotspot

Conservation Alliance is established, taking over the activities of Conservation International, Ghana, and bringing a multidisciplinary platform to biodiversity conservation.

2015

Little Green Hands takes root

Environmental education reaches schools and young people through the Little Green Hands programme β€” cultivating the next generation of stewards.

2020

Leading the pesticide-reform campaign

CA convenes sector partners to advocate phasing out Highly Hazardous Pesticides in Ghana's cocoa sector, drawing national and pan-African media attention.

2021

GREEN GHANA & biodiversity data leadership

CA joins the national GREEN GHANA planting exercise and, with partners, launches the BID-AF2020-029-USE project to strengthen biodiversity data.

2026

Entrusted with national monitoring

Alongside MESTI and UNEP-WCMC, CA launches the National Monitoring Support Initiative (2025–2030) to modernise Ghana's biodiversity monitoring and reporting.
