Planting a greener Ghana

As part of our mandate to conserve biodiversity across Africa's forests, we joined the Green Ghana Campaign with five community-based organizations β€” putting roots in the ground across the Western North Region.

The Campaign

Trees for schools, streets and rivers

We partook in the Green Ghana Campaign with five community-based organizations from five districts of the Western North Region.

About 2,000 seedlings β€” including Acacia, Mahogany, Ofram, Otie and Emire, among many others β€” were planted across schools, roadsides, hospitals, riverbanks and abandoned mine sites.

Green Ghana shouldn't just be about planting trees and leaving them as orphans β€” let's protect them with the same enthusiasm we used to plant them.
