Turning waste into clean energy
Ghana leans heavily on hydroelectric power. Biogas offers a complement β clean fuel from waste that also solves a sanitation problem and returns nutrients to the soil.

Energy self-sufficiency from what we throw away
Sewage, household waste and agricultural waste are precious raw materials β and CA's Biogas program treats them that way.
Biogas is a fuel produced during the anaerobic digestion of agricultural, household and faecal waste, stored in a specially built bio-digester. The technology promotes clean energy production, waste management and environmental conservation β and its digester sludge can even become high-nutrient fertilizer. In collaboration with Biogas Technologies Africa Limited (BTAL), CA promotes its adoption among second-cycle schools and communities in the Central Region.
Adopting biogas is an effective means of enhancing sustainable growth and achieving energy self-sufficiency.
One digester, three dividends
Waste in, value out
Organic and faecal waste is digested anaerobically in a bio-digester β producing fuel, cutting pollution and yielding fertilizer.
Clean Energy
Biogas fuel for domestic and industrial use, complementing the grid.
Waste Management
Sewage and organic waste become a resource instead of a hazard.
Rich Fertilizer
Digester sludge makes high-nutrient fertilizer for urban and rural farms.
