NATIONAL MONITORING SUPPORT INITIATIVE (NMSI) PROJECT

Conservation Alliance International is implementing a project in Ghana titled ‘Strengthening national biodiversity monitoring systems for enhanced implementation of the Kunming – Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework’ wherein referred to as the National Monitoring Support Initiative (NMSI) Project. This 5-year Monitoring Initiative is funded by UNEP-WCMC with aim of assessing and enhancing national capacities, tools and systems to monitor national implementation of the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF). The intended impact of this Monitoring Support Initiative is to strengthen capacity of national and sub national institutions for monitoring biodiversity in Ghana and identify required resources to ensure sustainability of national monitoring systems. The Monitoring Support Initiative will engage with, build on, and contribute to existing national biodiversity monitoring systems and international support initiatives, and aim to mobilize additional resources to develop and maintain such systems
