COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE

  1. Ecotourism :
Conservation Alliance International is implementing a two-phase ecotourism infrastructure development project (2022–2026) in Obuoho Community, Ayensuano District, Eastern Ghana, under the Next World Now Community Investment Grant. The project is enhancing the Obuoho Waterfall site through the construction of a visitor waiting area/information centre and installation of directional and educational signage to strengthen community-based ecotourism. This intervention is positioning Obuoho as an emerging ecotourism destination while attracting future partners and investment to support sustainable local development.

  2. Livelihoods :
Conservation Alliance International, with funding support from the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) through the Satoyama Development Mechanism (SDM), implemented a community development and conservation initiative (2021–2022) in Obuoho and surrounding communities bordering the Atewa Range Forest Reserve. The project strengthened women-led cooperatives in natural resource governance, promoted biodiversity awareness, and improved livelihoods through Farmer Field Schools, market linkages, and the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices.
